Hi Guys, looking for some clarification regarding ccu changes.
Until recently I had been working as a self employed sparkes for 40 years,
I recently got a 'proper' job so have given up my part 'p' status.
I have kept my P-liability etc so that I can do those little jobs. Recently I have looked at a small 2-way board, supplying electric gates & 1 light, ( fed from DNO meter ), the rcd is seized & i suspect the mcb wouldn't work either if required.
Am I correct to say that I can replace the faulty rcd & breaker under a minor works but am not allowed to change the actual enclosure as this would be seen as a ccu change ?.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated

it's classed as maintenance/repair work, so just get on with it. test and issue a cert.

If it's a 'like for like' swap then no problem just issue meiwc.
Out of interest why do think the mcb is faulty as well?

Hi Stan the man it's only because of the physical condition of it , the terminals are green & corroded so I wouldn't trust it plus it's any easy replacement

Is the enclosure mounted on a damp wall or is there an ingress of moisture? Just make sure that it's left safe for continued use as it may have been designed wrong from the outset.

Yep will do, it's in an external meter cabinet
