Just wondering what you still have from years yonder and what you made to make life easier, the only things I think I still have are my PYRO tools and a long handled PYRO stripper that I made myself, will need to have a rummage in the loft to find them though, oh and ancient conduit threading tools, bit rusty so need to clean them up a bit.

So, go on what have you,

Pete you can be first since the gas light days ;o))))))

Gave all my MICC tools away, only used potting tool and ringing tool, never got on with any kind of stripping tool, even the made up kind, just used my side cutters. ( like opening up a tin of sardines):) Still got me rawl plug tool.

Well not as far back as "yonder" but I had to make an adapter for my test leads using some 6mm cable and a connector block, just so I could do an rcd test on certain makes of rcbo's. I've also seen my old gaffer make a Zs socket tester from an old plug top.

I kept mine and oddly enough after 10 years someone asked me to pot some ends as he was a builder and had a job on, nice little earner that was. Sentimental value means they are languishing in a tool box in the loft and they are worthless so no point in giving them away.

Used side cutters as well myself but with 7ft tails on the 6 core MICC it would have taken ages.

Hopefully some of my installs are still around.
