Had emails over night confirming that OLEV are reducing the OLEV grants from £500 down to £350 for installs carried out from 1st APril 2020 onwards.
If you carry out EV installations under the home charge or workplace grant schemes then you may need to go back to your customers with new contracts or paperwork to ensure you are not out of pocket by £150.00
If you can then do the job before 1st April. Otherwise customer gets a bigger bill when OLEV reject the grant claim form.

Surprised they haven't scrapped it entirely to be honest but the grants have only pushed the price of chargers up beyond a true reflection of the parts inside them. With a reduction in subsidy, I think you will see the prices come down to a realistic price point. Rolec being an example of over priced chargers. Quality is sometimes poor with iffy parts inside.

Reminds me a bit of the Solar PV market when the government pulled the feed in tariffs. the industry pretty much disappeared over night. one good thing it got rid of the cowboys in the industry.

The majority of EV vehicle owners are usually in well paid professional jobs, middle class etc and the grant makes no real difference to whether they get an ev and charger. The government know this and hence are cutting it.

That ties in with the reduction in the Grant for purchase from £3500 to £3000, both from this weeks budget. But both guaranteed for another 3 years.
