Hello to all
Can a 'part pee" person replace a damaged twin and earth cable to an outside light on a stable block and issue a minor works certificate?
The cable outer sheath has cracked due to incorrect installation method and long term exposure to the elements.

Many thanks

Sounds like a like for like replacement? If so, anyone can do it as its not notifiable work --- provide it follows the same route and has the same CCC!

However, is using T&E and appropriate cable for the external environment? Not know the exact details of the lighting run/containment but Im thinking weather and damage by livestock?

Thank you for the replies

It is just the cable that requires a suitable uv resistant replacement and a catenary (swinging in the breeze at the moment). The cable run is inaccessible to live stock due to its height and location.
Makes you wonder how much of a problem uv/exposure degradation of the outer sheaths is going to be on similar instsallations on commercial and domestic properties in the future.

Regards to all
