Pat testing 415v equipment

Firstly - does 415v stuff fall under 'pat testing'?

If so - how is it done, do i just use an adapter from 13a plug to 415v plug?

I believe there's a few varieties of 415 plug...

You'll have a choice of 4 different sockets-16A 4 or 5 pole and 32A 4 or 5 pole.

You could probably use a multi function tester and a clamp meter for earth leakage?

Well for starters - its most important that PAT adaptors for 3 phase equipt. do not allow a mains connection (inadvertantly or not) from the PAT testing equipment. So the first thing you do is snip off the "live" wire from the cable where you're going to terminate it into the adaptor. Next step connect earth (doh !!), then Neutral into first phase conection. Each subsequent phase is then looped together into the first. - see picture I've taken.
PAT testers are configured to apply insulation test voltage to both Live & Neutral, therfore it don't matter the "Live" is snipped off.
All of this is covered in Code of Practice page 76 Para 15.5 notes 4 & 5.
I set my Supernovas up to carry out this test and is listed separately on the test menu.​

OIC how youve done that.

So after connecting the appliance to the adapter, would you just run an it/class1 test - earth and insulation?

Evening

I have made a male iec to male 5 pin 415 32amp plug
I purchased a 3 pin house plug to female 5 pin 415 32amp plug
Then put my 3 pin house style plug with the female into the supanova elite then connected the
Extension lead and returned it to the iec end to create a loop
The cable passes 2 tests and on the 3rd test it has open and does not pass and asks to restart test or abort test
What do i need to do the plugs are the same wiring like yours in your pics

What are the "3" tests your attempting? There would only be 2 - earth bond and insulation resistance, apart from visuals of course. ( For those who pick-up on the obvious.)
