Just back from Campeltown and had a look at 2 newly rewied flats.

Flat 1 C.U high level in a cupboard in Kitchen with Meter below countertop in Kitchen

Flat 2 Both C.U and Meter below counter in 2 different cupboards with a shelp which has to be removed before accessing D.B

As this is a refurb with partial rewire new building regs about easy access dont really apply , AS its scotland no Prt P, but would i get away with code 2 ing it due to access.

Opinion please.

Hi bud.

I would definately say the "Accessibility to switchgear" box on the test cert wouldn't get a tick.

Can you not get at the breakers at all without removing the shelf??

Yes but they ARE accessible, albeit with a little shelf adjustment?

I would class that tickbox as something along the lines of isolators or sockets behind items of equipment.

However, i am open to flaming.

I disagree there mate, Main Switches are red for a reason, emergency switching. If you cant get at the switch without firstly removing all the things out of a cupboard then the shelves aswell in an emergency situation then thats a fail from me.
