Presumably there is some kind of work surface on which to rest the kettle; would some kind of bench trunking be out of the question?

Hmmm Bench trunking is deffo an idea. Ive normally installed that in labs or hospitals that ive worked in. it never crossed my mind to do it in this kitchen.
not enough space between window and kitchen unitsDado trunking
not enough space between window and kitchen units
on top of units with dado simple.
Do you mean dado trunking flat on the units or bench trunking which is not going to get crap down the sockets...
its still a thought though.
I'm just thinking the dado trunking I know needs to go on the wall. Anything on bench top etc is bench trunking... I could be wrong.Who said anything about it flat on the units.
