Hi peoples, i am a jib member and have been for aproximately 9 years now. qualified as an approved sparky my question is wether the JIB will hold its ground now the big companies are threatening to pull out of the jib and form their own.?

Bailey Building Services, Balfour Beatty Engineering Services, T. Clarke, Crown House Technologies, Gratte Brothers., MJN Colston, SES and SPIE Matthew Hall are the contractors who propose to introduce a new agreement to replace the current agreements which define the terms and conditions of their employees. This would entail new terms and conditions which would replace the JIB, SJIB, JIB-PMES & H&V Agreements.

without ECA or Unite the Union backing do they still have a chance of undermining the existing system in place? is it all doom and gloom?

thanks micheal.

There's a thread in Electricians Unite on this very subject mate. I think it's up near 360 pages long so plenty of bedtime reading:)
