Discuss PVC Conduit-Sealant Lubricant for expansion Joints in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Does anybody know or recommend an easily obtainable product that would be suitable for the expansion side of a pvc expansion coupler.
Normally I have installed conduit with bends which have accommodated expansion but I have two long straight runs on my next install and although it is suggested that a sealant lubricant is used I cannot find a specific product.

Thanks

Why not contact the manufacturers and have them recommend a suitable lubricating/sealant grease for their product!!

just go to any elec wholesalers and buy a can of nonsetting expansion glue
make sure u allow plenty of slack on the wires in the conduit/light fittings or whatever, maybye put some thro boxes in with slack inside

If this conduit installation is above a false ceiling, we would normally use flexible conduit accross structure expansion joints. In my view a far better solution than a slideing joint that may not slide after a few years... lol!!
