I have a house split into 9 flats each with its own supply fed from a Ryfield cabinet in a service room. The cutouts/heads are "Lucy House Service Cut Out Single Pole" about 10 years old. In these heads, there is a plastic cover over the N/E terminals which is held in place only by the fuse holder. If you take the fuse holder out, this cover usually falls out. The problem is that when the DNO installed the supplies they didnt put any seals on. If the fuse holder becomes a bit loose, the N/E cover falls out. And then gets lost. I have been putting my own seals on the fuse holders to stop them coming loose but need some spare covers.

Bizarrely the fuse holders don't contain fuses, just pieces of solid metal. I found this out when I inspected the "fuse" for an EICR. Presumably the supply fuses are in the Ryfield cabinet in the service room but I haven't managed to check this yet.

Where can I buy the spare covers for these Lucy cut-out/heads?

Are the Lucy cut outs the property of the DNO?

Pete999: I had presumed they are property of SSE who did the installations. But now I see the cutouts dont actually contain fuses I am not sure. Is it possible their responsibility stops at the Ryfield cabinet? And would that explain why they didnt put any seals on? Ownership doesnt make any difference to the requirement to fix the fuseholders properly though.

It may do if it is SSE property they should be responsible for the repairs surely?
