Hi people
We've had 2 Fronius 150IG plus inverters stolen from site.
They were in a plant room still in their boxes. Police are doing nothing, insurance won't pay because there was no forced entry, site think we stole our own inverters.
Does anyone know where such specialist equipment gets sold on?

Cheers

Rob

From experience I would say there are only 3 ways,1 stolen to order,2 stolen for scrap,3,stolen because they were there in which case fleabay or scumtree would be where I,d be looking.

You could send out an email to all MCS companies within, say, 50 miles of where they disappeared from asking them to be on the lookout.

I have been approached in the past by callers who don't seem to know much about what they are trying to flog.

worth putting the location up as well. I have had people approach me in the past flogging supposedly bankrupt stock. Not for a while now though.

Thanks for your replies.
The details:
2 x Fronious IG150 3phase
SN: 22354977/150V-3
22354982/150V-3
They were taken from a site in Worthing in Sussex
However, most of the labour on site are from Sheffield and around South Yorkshire

Cheers for your help

Rob

They'll get sold in Europe where there isn't a FIT as a cheap out of warranty replacement.

Off topic, I had 16 panels stolen off a completed 50kW. Final roof check discovered the damage and loss. The owner told me I had to replace them which I laughed at, pointed out in the contract that once on site they were his and that he would need to give me £2000 to replace them. After a heated discussion with his solicitor in the board room he agreed to replace them. A week later when I completed the hand over and informed him I'd informed MCS with the stolen panel serial numbers and that they were worthless, he looked shocked. A moment later he asked me if I could install 16 panels at his home and that he would supply them. Oh I laughed my --- off so hard, took the final payment and told him to look for another installer.

The moral, it's an inside job fella.

Blinding mate. Can't believe he got his solicitor in. Once they're fitted they're his.

All gear is now installed on delivery now for that reason.
Pretty sure it was an inside job as it was a closed site, as in every trade was a pet company who'd worked with the main contractor for years.

This sort of thing is why I won't install on behalf of customers who've somehow ended up with their own equipment.

That and the endless hassle. If not direct knock offs it's probably from Ebay, so where it came from before that nobody knows.

I had a call today from a guy who wanted us to install some Solar Century integrated kit which he had somehow come across. I politely declined.
lol - we had the same call. He's at the end of a very long list of people to do quotes for, I strongly suspect I'll just never get round to contacting him.
