picked up a Megger LT7 for peanuts the other day. so thought would try it, check it against 1552. plugged into outside socket ( feeds water feature) no trip loop test-- >50v.
Uh-Oh. isolated at MCB, opened socket, snapped off cpc at terminal due to stress caused by limited space in enclosure. reconnected, power on- Zs=1.0ohms. coffee time. just goes to show the importance of regular testing.

lol.... i tested my house in march and ALL my results (apart from IR) were different from the NIC installer who fitted the box at new build!! lol.. house is only 2 years old..!! hmmmmmmm Signed off by a QS as well..!

so what's new? i came across a NICEIC contractor installed 0.75 flex from a ceiling rose to adaptable box outsdie but under cover, connected to 1.5T/E to PIR to 5' fluorescent fitting. fitting and PIR were well goosed! so i am not suprised by anything some of these cowboys do. bet it wasn't used for assessment!
