Just checked my own profile and I’ve done it 6 times and received it 8. Going to have to spend the next month finding those posts :)

This is another thing I don't like about the rating system mate. You can't even click on the ratings to see what post your received them on.

Have given 1 in around 9 years to a guy who disconnected his main earth when energised and wondered why there was a high voltage between earth cable and met. He thanked me afterwards in his post. I think its the only time i even wanted to give a dumb rating......probably too old to get excited anymore.........

I don't care! Everyone is different. No need to get upset over a rating. However, I do feel that while it is obviously unnecessary to explain an agree or like vote, if you want to comment "dumb" it would be useful to learn why that rating was given. Still, people have a choice, and there are reasons why people act certain ways. Upset? Just move on...it's only words on a screen.
I like good spelling and grammar, but I would not like to criticise someone if their spelling is poor, except in jest, as that is just plain rude. Incidentally, the word criticise above has a wiggly line under it. The recommended suggestion is "criticize" which is incorrect in proper English, but I know this, so just ignore it!
The posting-box mantra exhorts us to keep our posts "in-keeping" with the forum etc etc...that hyphen is inappropriate, but do I care?
Oh, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that?
Maybe we should have more ratings buttons?
How about a "Brilliant idea, I'd never have thought of doing it that way. What a splendid chap/chapess you are...would you like to go for a beer?" button?
Perhaps a simple "wtf?" button?
Maybe a button that means "Clearly you are inebriated, lucky you...think I'll have a few myself!"
The more the merrier...buttons that is, not drinks!
Hmm...come to think of it...
I come here to learn and for the banter, and if someone intends to upset me I'm not bothered...I just alt+tab onto Redtube!
