technical electrical books

hello all.

i'm in my first year out of college as a qualified spark now. whilst i find myself confident in aspects of work i have experience in i sometimes find the electrical subject overwhelming and hard to digest. i understand that over time with experience i will gain knowledge, but before then, i was wondering if anyone knew of any books that went into more detail on the theory side than the standard books they dish out at college.

Hope I dont offend but I think you are trying to run before you can walk. If you find the subject overwhelming at times, indepth books are just going to add to the confusion. The course you are doing will give the building blocks to understand and its only with that understanding that you can then tackle the subject. Ask all the questions you can in class and with the money you have saved by not buying more books have a good beer or two when you pass.

agree with acat, they prob wont make much sense at moment, but as you progress through college things do start to click and you will begin to understand it all.

I think you both seem to have misread my post. If you read it again you will see it says I am no longer in college. When I use the term overwhelming I don't mean I don't understand, I mean that it is such a broad subject and I want to learn more about it.

Yo may find the guidance note series beneficial, although some of them are not cheap.

You should have GN3 anyway as part of the requirements to join a scheme.
