Test for insulation damage

Hi,

A rat has chewed through some insulation on a circuit in my house. The cable will obviously need replaced but I can't identify we're along the circuit the insulation has been damaged. Is there anyway to test for this?

It'll be where the cable gets in their way as they move around. Doesn't have to be blocking their way - just be an inconvenience.
If you don't know where the damage is, how to you know they've been gnawing it?

as above ^^^^^. jf the conductors have been shorted together, a resistance measurement of the shorted conductors can be made and use the milliohms/m figures to calculate the length from CU to short. if you are going to replace the cable though, why bother.
