Pretty much a standard procedure on most commercial jobs to put conduits in stud wall. Use caddy straps to fix them to.
 
I would always rather use conduit in stud wall with insulation.
It gives rewiring potential, it helps against thermal effects, and a metal back box on a nogging is heaps better than a crappy cavity box any day.
