Hello Guys,

I'm looking at buying a tool storage system like the Bosch l box or tough system by dewalt. The idea being I can just carry my tools out in one ideally rolling trolley. I want it to hold my hand tools, drill, impact driver, sds and circ saw. As well as drill bits e.t.c. They need to be able to be well organised as I tend to forget tools unless I can get used to seeing them together in one place all the time so I know what I'm missing.

any ideas

cheers

tom

I use the l boxes system for putting general gear in rather than tools.i have 6 I think of various sizes for sockets jbs connectors boxes etc.
its quite handy for bringing all the stuff you'll need for most jobs without running back to the van all the time.good quality but seem to have ramped up in price recently.i think I spent 200 quid on empty boxes!
i bought a load of raaco euroboxes recently to try to sort out the lab a bit
my theory being for stuff I don't use everyday like data, conduit fp etc it gets it own box and if I'm doing say data I bring the box with all that stuff with me and when i m done it goes back in the store.the Bosch are as goods the festool boxes IMO

The dewalt stuff is too cumbersome, the trolley is too wide for standard uk doorways. Try festool systainers I have all my power tools in them and the trolley it a good width for doorways :)

I have only ever seen the Bosch L boxes and I liked them,I have never seen the festool boxes until now and how do they compare with the bosch boxes?

The new T lock festool/tanos systainers are a vast improvement on the originals, the Bosch L boxes are a little tougher but the T lock ones are more erganomical with one handed operation and the ability to open a box in the middle of a stack without having to dismantle it :)

While I think the sortimo type stuff is awesome, I have one of these: (Stanley 1-94-850 FatMax ProMobile JobChest - STA194850)
Its a massive beast but fits through doors, isnt really heavy due to the wheels and a decent handle and is also pretty secure, and you can use it as a hop up/seat.
You can stick a full size saw in the lid, and 600mm drill bits inside, mine has a 36V SDS in it, and an 18V combi, impact, grinder, multicutter, angle drill, 2 flouro lights, charger, 6 batts, radio, loads of chisels, spanners, drill bits and blades and other crap. Small jobs I take my tool bag, anything bigger I take that, I HATE making constant trips to fetch tools to the job. It also has a notch in the lid for cutting stuff. So not the same as stackable but a few other features and maybe a bit cheaper too.
