hey peeps,
iv designed my own website. Iv never done it before so its just pain and simple at the moment with alot designed using ms paint. Iv done it all for nothing thanks to get british businesses online. If you could give any opinons and what else i could add. Also how do you get it to rank higher on google? any tips cheers guys

A great looking website. I would probably try and close-up some of the plain white spaces on the home page. Apart from that, looking good!:D

Agree about the white space - there is too much of it. If potential customers have to scroll too much, they will go elsewhere.
You have a link to a sitemap - not necessary on such a small site, and the sitemap page is incomplete anyway.
Put the 'About' info on its own page, not at the bottom of the Home page.
On my browser (Chrome) each tab for your site says 'null - MJE Electrical' - get rid of the 'null' if you can
Do not use hotmail as email address for a business. See my thread here about how to get e.g. [email protected].

Nice effort though. How may hours have you put into developing this?

good looking site mate, what about some testimonials from satisfied customers. thats what i would look for if i was looking for a trdesman not knowing them i would want word of mouth / previous jobs etc

I always get the impression that people like to see what you do, so listing all the areas you cover is a good one.

A domestic customer will always ask me, 'do you do garden electrics'.....ffs of course i know i do and its so simple to assume things.

It looks quite impressive for a first try. What did you use for it, php? I agree with the “too much white space” before. You need to make it more compact, also my oppinion is to use smaller fonts, pictures and so on. Generally on internet smaller is better :). But it looks OK, good job!
