Discuss TT Supply Pole ..... in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Been to see one of my jobs today and this is what I noticed:

TT Pole.jpg

Background:

The property used to be a bungalow and is have a "full" 2nd story added

The tarpaulin to the left is the based on the wall which is to be built upwards ........

So my question is - can anyone point me in the direction of any rules regarding the proximity to buildings ?

I seem to recall 2 metres but I'm not sure why I think this?

Also, when it was a bungalow, the connections weren't far off the roof, but as a house it will be really close.

Thanks

PS - and BT have used the same pole from a different direction!

I was on a job which had 2nd floor extension. The electric supply was ‘in the way’. DNO came along and rerouted, for minimal fee. Seems a sensitive solution in your case. Difficulty is the others services, heard Open Reach charge a fortune?

To be fair, the supply cables are fixed directly to the walls of many terraced houses.
Yeah not sure about BT and lecky board sharing the pole! Who's is it?

Hope they've bonded that scaffolding.
<lights blue touch paper and runs off>

B.T have been sharing poles for years.

As DPG, Dno cables are fixed to house walls before they enter the building the only difference here is the presence of building work.

The Dno would normally put extra protection on cables if construction work is in progress nearby, but the builder should have highlighted that in thier Risk assessments:D

To be honest, the scaffolding outfit should know this, and not lifted before dealing with.

Looks like the builders have been pole flinging...:)
