Hi im just looking for a bit of advice, im helping install a 3phase deep fat fryer in a kitchen, the BOSS says a 6mm swa will be fine, ive looked at the info from the manufacturer and it says L1 = 31.7A L2 = 31.7A L3 = 17A.

In the regs book a 6mm swa can take 42A, im just wondering, is that per phase or in total?

Any help or advice would be appreciated

Thanks

per phase depending on the install method

i would guess the line currents should be nearly equal for a 3P fryer however

Could be that it is a 3 basket fryer with 2 full baskets & 1 half basket with each section of the fryer in effect being single phase.
