What cables please!

Hi

obviously confused, so requesting help please.

Situation is full rewire of 5 floor town house , each floor containing internet, television, and phone points.

Virgin is product of choice for cable TV and possible internet. ( which is in the street).

BT may be telephone

I want to push on and need to clear up and ask advice on what cables to run. I tried to ask advice from Virgin, about recommended cables, especially for future proofing and got short shrift! Very disappointed.

Here are my thoughts. Virgin and Bt bring in to the house and leave a point to run to, a switch, hub or socket whatever.

To the internet, television points run 2 x Cat 5E or Cat 6 from income point to each accessory point.

Throw in a co-axial, in case of deciding they no longer want cable, to each television point also, phew getting busy now!

To the phone points put in a good telephone wire.

Get it all in by lunch time , if I cut out the tea break!

The customer do not require whistles and bells, and will have an office but will not run a business from the home.

What are your thoughts please ?

I believe you will struggle to distribute the Virgin signal. I have Virgin and tried all sorts of ways to feed it - nothing doing!! They want you to have a box for each screen... sos

You could get an RF Modulator from the scart socket on the virgin box and distribute it that way - would be no worse than sky rf2 output.
