Normally a trailing edge dimmer should be silent you have not got it set to leading edge have you?
there are different modes on the varilight dimmers, have a look on there site there is a video guide that explains it i recon its probably in the wrong mode

8. My LED lamps are buzzing whilst the dimmer is on

This behaviour can be attributed to a component within the LED lamps themselves vibrating during operation. Changing the driving mode on the dimmer may improve this behaviour. Instructions on how to change the driving mode are located in the product instruction manual and on Varilight TV.

If the LED lamps continue to buzz after trying the different driving modes we would recommend contacting the LED manufacturer for further advice.

I've installed 60 lumilife GU10's from LED hut and the customer is well impressed. 5W and they're bright. First time I've used them. 13 of them are on dimmer switches which I have to replace to LED compatible dimmers. LED hut recommend varilight pro dimmers so will see how they fair. Anyone used them?
did you buy dimable led's? they sell both but the dimable are more expensive

Yes I bought the dimmable ones. I followed the instructions and changed the modes 3 different modes. I will try again in case I maybe haven't done it right. Will be back after the holidays so will update you.

Sylvania sent their 5.5W superbright LED GU10, the light is same as a 50W halogen, the old 7.5W is brighter and whiter- great in a bathroom, so I'm going for the 7W Megaman from Fastlec (thanks Vitesse). They are 550LM so should pack a punch.

£9 for Aurora FR d/light with 5W LED is great value as well there.
