Discuss Wiring repair of floor edge sander in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

So OP why did you replace the cable. That is a seriously expensive bit of kit but good quality I done the oak floor in my hall with their varnish products looks brilliant absolutely no discoloration to the wood.

That's a good point, but yes, mains cable was replaced, it started up, broke the cables inside (not reassembled correctly), hence the need to rewire the insides.

Probably not a lot we can advise from a distance but if you can find an independent tool sales shop who also undertake repairs they should resolve the problem one way or another.

Hi,if it has succumbed to an internal wiring mishap, and the obvious fusing is in order,it may have fried that PCB or burnt out another component.

Might be time to ring the hire shop, and tell them your neighbours dog, played tug-of-war,with the cable. (In my experience, the more comedic and outlandish, the excuse, the cheaper the bill;))
