Bulb placed into special administration - What now?

Octopus energy here šŸ™. Looks pretty safe as taking customers from other failed companies. GO tarrif. Not looking forward to the end of our fixed rate mid Jan. The current day charge is 14p or more and 5p at night with a daily charge of 25p. The new day rate could be 20p+ but we store 5p energy...

Solar Panels Does the home consume solar produced electricity that doesn't reach the meters?

Just be clear... Your inverter creates power at the mains voltage for the whole of your house. If you have 2kW of Solar and you put a 3kW kettle On, the house will draw the extra 1kW from the mains. No magic box... Just the inverter... A length of copper wire.. The consumer unit. Where your...

Solar Panels Does the home consume solar produced electricity that doesn't reach the meters?

The idea was to install the equivalent of a nuclear power station's worth of Solar panels across the country without the transmission losses. The generation payment is to pay for the generation equipment, whoever made that investment is entitled to that return. It is actually a green payment as...

Solar Panels Does the home consume solar produced electricity that doesn't reach the meters?

Hi Robertay2000 Does someone come to read your generation meter? If they don't then no one is getting the generation or feed in Tarrifs. Unless they link to the Power one inverter directly. Perhaps you could apply to take the fits. When was it fitted? More recent installs get very little...

Solar Panels Does the home consume solar produced electricity that doesn't reach the meters?

I too have 2 meters in the UK. My panels generate 3800kWh per year as shown by my generation meter like yours. (I cannot see any values on your meter... except 88888. Do the numbers cycle?) I also have an incoming mains meter like your Revenue meter, which measures around 2800kWh per year. This...

What are your solar PV's generating these days?

My system generated 3,800kWh in 2018 and 3,333 so far this year. It is a 3.6kWp south facing system installed in Dec, 2011 in coastal Lancashire. These figures are around 200kWh more than the previous years with weather being better. A large tree on our west side has been removed a month ago...

    Recharegeable batteries with iBoost

I have had rechargeable batteries in my iboost for 4 years without a problem. Just watch out for an orange triangle or battery low symbol on the main unit or just recharge them regularly in early spring or keep a second set ready to swap.

    Solic 200 red lights error

I can see that your sensor is around a tail in your photo but it is not clear which ones. Would you please take a photo of the whole install including the consumer/fuse box showing. Photo below taken at 20:18 1st sept... Lights .... OFF.... RED..... GREEN DEFO NO SOLAR SHOWING ON SOLAR...

    Solic 200 red lights error

I have just upgraded to the Solic 200 from the solar iBoost. Mine is working fine. 20:30 NIGHT lights = off, red, green... immersion neon off. No heat added to tank. In SUNNY DAYTIME, green, green(odd red flash), green... immersion neon ON... as bright as supplied voltage. A very hot tank...

    Solar IBoost

The Solar iBoost diverts most of the excess generation that is being exported. Eg it tends to still allow 2-300watts to be exported. It shows you what it is using now, so far today, yesterday, all week, 28 days and a running total. It works using a WIRELESS current sensor around the live wire...

So I may be buying a house with P.V. installed....

I have 4kwp pv installation, generating 3800kwh per year, paying Ā£2k per year. They give you an extra 4p for the 50% of 3800 you nominally export. Eg the export is not measured. Saving me approx Ā£250 in electricity and more for gas. On the powerwall... you still get the fits but get to keep and...

Intermittent disturbance on Sunny Boy inverter

In the US you are supplied with 2 phases (legs) and a neutral. Eg 2 x 110 at 60hz. Between the legs(phases) you see around 210Vac, typically used for your larger appliances e.g. oven/cooker or aircon. If the US inverter is connected to one leg(phase) it will see 110Vac at 60hz and match that. So...

Intermittent disturbance on Sunny Boy inverter

Your original post at 2:20 am UK time (BST) suggests you were up late or that your location is correct e.g. California and your time was 6 or 7pm. I would be interested to know why you are expecting to output at UK settings 230Vac rather than USA 120VAc. Should we assume you are off grid with a...

Intermittent disturbance on Sunny Boy inverter

SOLUTION(Mine) - Sunnyboy 3800 Voltage Disturbances Vac-Srr - 263.9V present, 259.1V now. Should be 216-253 (230)V-6%+10%. PV system trying to deliver 3.6 kWh. Voltage at generation meter shows 257-260V. Solution:- 1 - contacted SMA uk via online form with Serial no. also mentioned that Inverter...
