Meter fitter refusing to connect to PME supply

I do have a 2KW one but couldn't get it to work last time I tried couple months back. Might try again in a bit! Problem is I can't visit the site as I'm self isolating at home awaiting a Covid test! I thought being at home a few days would be stress free!

Meter fitter refusing to connect to PME supply

Well they've well and truly done us over on this one...meter fitter left site as he didn't want to hang around to have his TT install ready so he's left the customer without power to the shop and house and extremely ----ed off about it all as you'd expect. Builder was on hold for over two hours...

Meter fitter refusing to connect to PME supply

Hi, currently working on a shop refurb at the moment. It's a traditional building( bricks and mortar) with a house attached on the back. The house and shop are on the same supply and meter for the time being. To move the project along we've had move the supply and meter to a new position...

    Dental surgery extractor

Hi, After a bit of advice regarding extractor fans for a dental surgery. Due to the ongoing Coronavirus crisis I've been asked to install extractor fans to a dental practice I occasionally due maintenance for. Due to the high risk of airborne particles from certain procedures they would have...

    Director but sole employee

I've also asked my accountant about this, as me and the wife are directors of the company. Assumed we'd be taking the 80% of our PAYE earnings but accountant is unsure if directors can be Furloughed. So we're waiting to see if this can be clarified soon. So I'm assuming if we don't qualify for...

    Both RCD's trip randomly

Many thanks for the input. We're going to wait and see if and when it happens again and I'll be happy to see what further tests show and I'll update this thread if I find anything interesting or conclusive.

    Both RCD's trip randomly

Don't have clamp meter with low enough range to detect mA. Might be tempted to get one now. Didn't think to check tails and now I feel daft as I didn't check Ze or voltage readings. Got a bit carried away with other dead tests and had other jobs to get too. If issue persists I'll check these...

    Both RCD's trip randomly

Scratching my head a bit on a job today. Been to clients house to investigate fault with installation. For the past few months client has reported that both RCD's on his dual RCD board have tripped at the same time on odd occasions thus losing all power to house. House was rewired by another...

Changing Wireless to Hard wired UFH

Hi, I have a customer who about 10 years ago had a Wet underfloor heating system put in with Wireless Stats which talk to the wiring centre and opens the actuators when required. The customer has for a while had problems with the wireless stats starting to play up and has asked about biting...

    ladder m8rix

I've actually bought one a few weeks ago and have just tried it out for the first time this week wiring high level lights in a barn. So far only tried it out on concrete floor but I like it. It might just be a trick of the mind be it seems secure and I'll continue using it. If I have a horrible...

    Too many calls!

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll alter the answer phone message to encourage email enquiries. I generally tend to respond to all the emails received within a day or two. As for taking on staff and growing the business...that's the other thing that I'm really wrestling with at the moment...

    Too many calls!

Bit of both. Try to keep a presence in the local magazines for when work is a bit slower. Have thought about removing them but might be too big risk. I agree. and I have tried to adopt that approach but then it always seems to end up with me finding it hard to say no and putting myself under...
