    New circuit for kitchen?

Sorry got a bit confused about this - it is an old 1980s board with wired fuses so will definitely need replacing. They have quoted for this and it will be a metal clad unit.

    New circuit for kitchen?

It is a communal heating system, so no electricity required for heating or hot water

    New circuit for kitchen?

Yes, access to loft space above. Metal clad RCBO board? I don't think any of the guys who have come to quote have mentioned this?

    New circuit for kitchen?

Hi, Need a bit of advice with regards to my kitchen rewire - Currently my 2 bed flat has only 1 30amp ring main, and one 30amp cooker circuit (and light circuit of course). I've had about 5 different guys in to quote for installing additional sockets for integrated appliances, adding a...

    Fused unit no longer required

Yeah I guess I was hoping not to have to do this if possible because its right in the middle of the room and so will not look great. As I say, if it's not safe just to cover it with plasterboard, I guess I'll have to make it a socket...

    Fused unit no longer required

I've just removed an old fused electrical heater fitted in the middle of the ring circuit and am now left with the hole and wiring (see pic). Ideally I want to just cover this up with a bit off plasterboard so it looks like nothing was ever there. Is it OK to do this or is this deemed unsafe? I...

    New diyer

Just wanted to put a double box in as the room is lacking in sockets, and as you say it all needs patching anyway so I thought I might as well do it now. The conduit sits just at the bottom of the box, seems quite flush with bottom of it.

    New diyer

Have tried and failed to take a better pic, sorry:( the wiring is in plastic conduit which seems to be attached to the box with some metal flanges. Thanks for reply

    New diyer

Just bought a flat which needs a fair amount of work and in true first time buyer style, I'm totally skint. I'll obviously get a proper spark in to do the serious stuff, but am keen to do as much as I can myself to keep the costs down and to learn as much as I can. Please be gentle, I'm totally...
