No I don't think you could make a living from it to be honest, I'm just a hobbyist trying to cover the cost of new toys. I bought a job-lot of broken meters off Ebay as a challenge and I managed to repair 4 of the Flukes, 5 if I come across a screen.
Yea old flukes are about the only old meter to hold value. I guess it's just brand recognition and a good reputation. If it's well used value might be closer to £50. I've just finished repairing a batch including some 77s (1981) that are older than me and the last repairable one of the batch is...
Thanks but it's worth more than I'd be willing to pay for it, It would be a waste to strip a working meter down for parts. You should get £60/70 for that if you give it a clean
