Easiest way of 60hz to 50hz for US machine

So basically have a job where a customer wants 3 belt sander's in a mobile workshop. Unfortunately the sander's they are insistent on using are from the US and rated at 60HZ and 120V, with a 1HP rating - think this is around 1KW? Getting down to 120V is not an issue, would prefer to use a...

    UK SWA Cable termination

To be fair of the budget stuff CPN is not bad, there is far worse out there! Plus the battery light built in is quite useful. However to take a cheap board and shove in decent EATON breakers is nothing other than "scrapheap challenge"

    UK SWA Cable termination

Also its a CPN Cudic board with Eaton RCBO's which is ---- poor for a new install. Looks like a "what i had in the van" install, hence no main switch!

Configuring motor to run off single phase?

So the hydraulic manufacturer is going to send over a single phase 3KW motor the replace the 3PH one, however its rated current is 17.75A which isn't ideal, but its only used for set-up. Is there going to be any issues with using a motor off an inverter? (have never done it), with the start up...

Configuring motor to run off single phase?

Thanks, will see if it can be exchanged for a single phase motor.

Configuring motor to run off single phase?

We have got a hydraulic motor/powerpack for leveling legs of a trailer. However this trailer is running off a 15KW inverter, so the motor needs to run off single phase. The motor has come configured for 3 phase, however the motor plate does say it will run off single phase. Would i be right in...

    Reversed Tails at Board

Be careful! I came accross this on a job a few years ago, so swapped it back around. However the boiler PCB board went BANG when i re-energised. Seems plumber had obviously discovered the incorrect polarity, so rather than getting it rectified, he swapped the polarity in the FCU ? So when i...

Repairing damaged Under Floor Heating Element...?

Yea that was my thinking, is there even any need for the repair kit, could i just cut out the damage, then solder a small link wire (of suitable wire), then heat-shrink? I would imagine, its only an inch or so that will need to be cut out. This is the type of UFH...

Repairing damaged Under Floor Heating Element...?

Just been to a customer's who has just had LVT type flooring installed on top of under floor heating. Unfortunately now whenever its turned on, it trips the RCD. So seems the floor fitters have damaged an element. Its in 2 sections, one reads 50ohm, the other is open circuit. So defiantly...

    Extension leads passing through walls

I don't know about Circus, but we build motorsport trailers which have 32/63/125A 3 phase male inlet socket which are plugged into via a Land-Line or built in generator. Some race circuits/events require a yearly EICR for each trailer before allowed on site. There are limitations on these, as...

No power to whole house after water fell on to cooker???

Probably a co-incident, and there is a power-cut, get them to check with neighbours. I would be surprised if water spilt on top of a cooker would trip an RCD, let along a physical fuse. Unless we are talking a substantial amount of water......

Does flex cable need to have boot lace connections

I basically only ever use flex (as we build trailers), so use a lot of ferrules. Don't really see why you wouldn't? it only takes seconds and usually fits into the terminal easier, and a much more solid connection. For sockets, or anywhere where you need to get 2 wires into the same terminal...
