    230V remote transmitter

Hi guys, Thanks for the info. Is there anything that can be set up like I suggested? I'm not keen on the idea of fully wireless kit, and I want the neon to indicate whether we have left it unlocked. It's not for major security, if someone wants to get into a wooden shed they will easily...

    230V remote transmitter

Hi guys, due to the recent events I am in DIY mode. I'm usually on mains power and some control wiring during my normal working days so this particular unit I'm looking for I can not find! Scenario:- 2 x sheds to be remote locked / unlocked I want a simple neon lit switched fused spur to...

    Industrial EICR guide

Hi guys, I undertake lots of different types of electrical installations and every now and again a customer asks for an EICR, I must admit I feel I'm actually good at testing but I don't really like it...mainly because of all the paperwork. I was wondering if anyone had any guides they use...

Identifying single core cpc's and neutrals

No worries, I'm not one to hold a grudge. I'm also going to get to the bottom of it somehow with one of these idea's and I'll get back to the thread with how I get on. Sorry if I scared anyone :relaxed:

Identifying single core cpc's and neutrals

Cheers Vortigern, I did like luciens idea, I think this is the route I will try because it is a common problem in old installations and I have wondered for a while if there was a method that was practical. Unfortunately the factory is 24 hours all day everyday so it's something I'm going to...

Identifying single core cpc's and neutrals

Fair comment about falling off ladders, but we are up in a roof void and it is single core cables ran in plastic conduit. I would have suggested plugging in a klik with a flying lead with connector block at the end. I thought maybe it won't work due to parralel paths but I figured there may be...

Identifying single core cpc's and neutrals

No I'd like you to explain yourself if that's ok? This is meant to be a community of electricians that are there to help each other, so if you believe what you say about my understanding of electric shock then surely an explanation would be more productive than yet another belittling response...

Identifying single core cpc's and neutrals

I wouldn't say it would be putting the lads life at risk, we work near live circuits all day long it's just one of those environments. We can make it as safe as possible when doing it and we will identify what we require in very little time resulting in a good job well done at the end of it...

Identifying single core cpc's and neutrals

That is a typical hardcore forum member response, I hope you are proud of yourself for your attempt at belittling someone. But I do know what you can say to it...you can answer my question if that's not too much bother for you? I will answer yours....yes I am a fully qualified electrician.

What about that suggestion do you find ridiculous? Are you talking on a safety point of view or a practical view? Cheers pal I haven't read through that properly to get my head round it yet but I will do and hopefully it'll be the answer

    Adiabatic equation on distribution circuits

Ahh I see, it's all on ladder anyway. It's like you said before, if you were to install 4mm for the CPC then the Zs would naturally be higher as there is a 35mm currently in place and it's not a short run... Off the top of my head it's probably about 50m.

    Adiabatic equation on distribution circuits

Ok fair enough :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy: But even still the next rounded cable size up from that is a 4mm! I still find that hard to believe... reg 524.3.1 is for main earthing conductors is it not? I did a quick google search as I don't have my regs book on me. The circuit in question is a...
