    Query; I have a panel board(mccbs) containing 100amp mccbs...

I'm just the tester on the job. I still have't seen the switch rooms. I'm guessing that these are existing breakers at their lowest settings.. I'm just used to seeing a breaker at the origin that would protect the cable. I'm asking will they disconnect under fault conditions. I'm not sure the...

    Query; I have a panel board(mccbs) containing 100amp mccbs...

Hello engineers. I have a query. I have a panel board(mccbs) containing 100amp mccbs supplying various "life safety DBs" lifts, water mist pumps etc.The panel board has an MCCB of 250 AMP as the main switch. It is supplied from an ATS in 120mm sq.4 core with 70mm earth.A run of 20m.The ATS is...

Unable to separate wires on ring circuit

Agree with Conlok coupler and bush. You have no mission threading it. Conlok will slide on. Only one half of it is threaded

Zs reading does not meet current regs

The increase in loop impedance from. 0.20 at the DB to 0.79 on a 10m run sounds like something not right ,loose connection ?As another poster suggested. Try testing with probes at the socket terminals. But having the RCD ..it will be fine. ..⌛

    Contactor control circuit

No doubt I'm missing something here but the ones I've done, are switched from the surgeons panel and just come on at the same time as the socket, not on the control circuit. I don't think there is a requirement to provide a fail safe mechanism. A buzzer might be a better warning than a lamp.

    Irish job query for testing

Hi I have a testing job to do in ireland. The test sheets i've to use ask for the R2 reading only..not R1+R2.....It is impractical to use the long wander lead method so I was thinking to work it out from R1+R2-(R1+Rn)/2=R2.........I was thinking to use this as opposed to R1+R2/2 to take account...

    Is a borrowed earth allowed?

There are other concerns too..maybe there could be another radial in the kitchen with a 'lost ' earth and the previous spark has already borrowed the cooker earth......So new cooker circuit in /old cooker circuit out might leave another circuit unprotected...Full test might identify that..I...
