    Just a long shot, but there could be a bit of moisture coming down the fan ducting onto the conductors!

    Run swa to the lamp post (volt drop calculations) bonded on a 30MA rcd in the consumer unit job done!

    Obviously installing a cpc/rewire would be the best option but if the client doesn't want you to do this then a warning label should be placed on the consumer unit !
