    AM2 testing

PEFC is measured with the earthing conductor connected to the means of earthing. The reason it is disconnected when carrying out the Ze is so parallel paths are not included in the test. Are you doing the Am2 at Culham?

SWA - earthing the steel wire?

This is a forum for electricians. Not a place to spoon feed DIY enthusiasts that are too tight to get the job done by somebody competent. How are you going to test the work?

New member - made a complete mess of installing light fitting!

Literally a potential death trap! Turn off the power and call an electrician. ( Is this a wind up BTW?)

    Laser levels. Do I buy?

A bit of unistrut and a rubber shoe for it works well also.

    Insulation Resistance...

Test between live conductors and live conductors and earth. If the cpc is not connected to the means of earthing then the test is not being carried out between live conductors and “Earth”. :)

    What certification do I need?

What i dont get is why i served my time as an apprentice for years, to have to seek approval from some muppet from LABC to tell me my work complies?

Cat 6 connections by a sparky

A decent crimper for the RJ45 plugs is important. One of the jobs i was on the QS bought these cheapo ones and we had endless problems with the connections not crimping properly. I use this one and it is decent.

25mm galv conduit deta brand from tlc keeps bending with a flat back and wrinkles ?

All the tube my old company used on there jobs seemed to go flat at the back when bending. Thousands of bundles and hundreds of different vices, same results. Penny pinching Quantity surveyors always buying the cheapest crap available.

Type of cable to outbuilding but on bricks.

Used loads of NYYJ on external ligting install for a new shopping complex. Installed on tray and the tray was lidded. A right pain to strip when the weather is cold. A jokari tool is very useful for this stuff.
