    I have used a lot of Rittal panels, the back plates we normally drill and tap for 8mm brass bolts from the back and then lock-nutted from the front before the back plate is fitted, but to be fair it depends on the spec. Some are specced completely overkill, so I feel your pain ;)

    If, and I mean if the IR tests were carried out correctly and showed no appreciable faults then where does the "earth leakage off the scale" come from ? What I have seen done, is a spark/s with their shiny new earth leakage meter then proceed to clamp the MEC with it (instead of just the tails)...

    Certain ones may do, I couldn't swear to what does what these days :) but still it is perceived as a 'bad design' when a typical RFC is designed for 32A only, it may lead to queries and condemnation by future sparks down the line :), seriously though I would stick to conventional circuits...
