    Tri-flex instead of solid tails

I've used 150, 185 and 240mm trip flex on large installs before contained in metal trunking. Is there any reason I can't use 35mm for a 100amp 3phase install contained in plastic trunking? Bend radius and access is going to be tricky and a pain with solid core.

    Agricultural generator changeover

Probably! But as they haven't bought it or organised a standby contract with anyone, I've no idea. I didn't know if there was an 'industry' standard or anything larger than a 63a commando type arrangent

    Agricultural generator changeover

Not sure if anyone else as come across this, but I've been asked to provide a changeover arrangement for a farm. It's 3phase 100amp but what provision will be needed for a generator connection out of the changeover? To my knowledge commando sockets only come in a max of 63amp.... it will be a...

    Reusing BS 3871's

My thoughts exactly. I cannot see a problem either with using the 3871's but I will have to take in account the cost of the RcD protection verses a new board. ... Unless I can come up with a RCBO to fit the MEM. Purely because of the age of the 3871's I would normally change the unit and I've...

    Reusing BS 3871's

I realise I should probably know the answer to this, but I'll ask away anyhow... I'm having to quote for some major refurbishment to an existing commercial kitchen for a local charity organisation. It'll include additional sockets to the ring, relocation of existing and relocation of a couple of...

    Scrapping armoured

I realise the answer to this is probably hidden in the search results, but damned if i can find it! whats everyone doing with scrap SWA? I've got lots of scrap pieces from 2-10m I'm fed up with keeping. Obviously the larger stuff is worth stripping, but is anything 16mm and under really worth...

6amp RCBO or Mcb that doesn't trip everytime a bulb blows

We all know the side effects of a normal 6amp MCB operating more times than often when a bulb blows (especially gls or candle lamps) but has anyone ever tried to to eliminate or reduce the nusience tripping? I have an elderly client with a 4way rewire able fusebox and I need to change for either...
