    Worst connector ever invented

In the US, where I grew up, we used to use wirenuts, which worked quite well if properlry sized and tightened. Here in Israel they are virtually unknown, and one electrician who did know about them told me they're not permitted by the local codes. Do you guys use them?

    Worst connector ever invented

Is your connector similar to these? I am in Israel, and these are the standard for connections in light fixtures, junction boxes, etc. They come in half a dozen sizes to accommodate various wire gages and numbers of wires. The bodies are some kind of plastic, and for high temperature...

Nor have I managed to find any G9 to G4 adapters. Does such a thing exist? Due to the structure of...

    Car Battery Advice

I drive a 2-1/2 year old Suzuki Crossover (S-Cross), 1600 petrol, automatic transmission. The other day I left the headlights and radio on with engine not running, and after ~20 minutes the radio quit and the engine would not star. Jumper cables got me started again, and since then no problem...

    DIY Member in Israel

Welcome email asked me to post a bit about myself, so here goes. Being an engineer and a cheapskate, and rather good with my hands, I prefer doing repairs and projects myself when I can. I find that I often do better (and definitely cleaner) work than "professionals" and get a lot of...
