Hi I’m new to this forum hope I’m ok asking for some advice in Dublin Ireland
I have a blown capacitor in a bench grinder/ polisher
I was using it and heard a pop and some oil leaking out
Took the capacitor out and I am having trouble finding one the same my question is do I need one the exact same
The one I have is
MP 33/8/400 A12
I can’t find the exact same on the net
Hope someone can help

You just need a 400v 8uf capacitor like this.

Note that the 400V rating mentioned is 400V AC (and any higher voltage is OK too, although will be larger). Provided you buy a capacitor that is specifically sold as a motor-run cap it will be correct. A capacitor sold as 400V for electronic applications will be 400V DC and not suitable.
