That looks like a builder/developer error...the plumber might have dipped the ceiling,but it looks suspiciously like some other hero,finished it off

I have seen the exact same scenario,where some yuppie hero,dropped the front,to replace stone work,and thought the joists running across the front,would mean less propping...
