Hi gang!

I have a customer who has asked me why his TV flickers on and off when the bathroom fluorescent light is turn off or on.

Any ideas?

and no I didn't install it lol

Thanks in advance,

Ty.

Could be anything. have you had a look at it?

Does it start up ok?

Does it need the tube replacing?

Loose connection?

Might it need the snubber replacing / fitting?

How close is it to the aerial?

Is the aerial co-ax properly terminated?

Is it a 1960s Tv?

Just a few for starters......

Yeah, could be anything from the contacts in the switch arcing to the surge from the starter circuitry. Not the kind of problem you want to get involved in unless he's prepared to pay your hourly rate whilst you fault find by elimination.

If you have an AM radio, have a listen as the light is switched on/off. you may be able to pinpoint the issue that way ??
Digital TV is easily disrupted by electromagnetic interfeence!
