welcometo the mad house. some retired old farts and such on here. my old man was aircraft thechnician... airframes, but that was Hurricanes and Lancasters etc. a chunk of fabric, glue and dope. fix anything in them days. :p

They still use plenty of bodge-tape, believe me!
 
believe it. i watch aircrash investigation every week. one that stuck in mind was "no nitrogen for the flat tyres. tick them as OK". 200 odd die.
 
Welcome! What aircrafts did you work on?
 
Ex aircraft engineer, radio engineer, electrician, etc. Retired, but still keeping a finger in.
I was stationed at RAF Colerne, they maintained C130s lovely sounding engines, I enjoyed my time there, until a C130 lost power and crashed in the woods at the end of the runway, all crew perished, burnt alive, awful tragedy, something I'll never forget.
 
That sounds exciting! Did you do it abroad or here?

There was life before F14s F15s and so on you know GMES, I can recall getting a flight in a F4 Phantom, threw up every where when the flight landed, how ever those fighter Jocks keep it all together amazes me. Tom Cruise eat yer heart out Buddy.
