Evening, is there a place to get good quality 20mm round plastic conduit lids?
I’ve installed a load this weekend from Screwfix and they don’t seal correctly as the plastic is too thin.
I’ve ended up using two lids on each box!

Thanks.

Screwfix, never again.

Thin conduit lids that bend before they are tight and let in water, and screws that’s gave badly rusted in 5 weeks.
The lids have delaminated as well.

Yep I know not to use them from there again after using them on a job before. Had to go to a proper wholesalers the next day to get proper replacements to fit.

Makes you think how they pass quality control.

Mind you I use the likes of Screwfix/b&q etc very very rarely only as last resorts.

The quality is poor for a lot of things, Schneider heavy gauge plastic conduit is the most recent problem causing conduit item for us. The bore of the conduit is now off centre leaving one side of the wall much thinner than the opposite side. This has lead to problems with bulging and distortion when bending. This is not just a one off bad length of conduit either, we are on bundle number 7 now with the same problem. Getting sick of using it now.

Tower which Screwfix sell is now part of the Schneider brand we have had this problem with other brands. The PVC conduit sold under the Schneider brand used to be Miter (if I spelt that correctly) which used to be high end.

Mita.

Sadly Schneider ruin a lot the products of the companies they take over. Look at what a mess they made of Merlin stuff.
Used to install their type B distribution boards about 8 years ago and they were a good board with the slider bar. Recently we had to fit an MCCB board with meters on each side it was terrible compared with Eaton load of leads to connect where Eaton one supply cable pre-made plugin leads between meters and a cat 5 from the meter to CT's. How have they made a mess of the Merlin board?
