Traying a swa round a corner

Thoughts on this,it’s a 70mm 4 core swa.

got a decent bend radius on the cable. but i would have cut the tray and has about 6" of the SWA in free air wound the corner. dumping the stack of strut.

Ok,on site we both argued about that,& decided to carry on with the tray,nice thought for next time though.
Thus weather made the bend a lot easier than in the cold.

Agree,thinking of occasional cleat,hate metal ties,cleats are plastic umm..

Also the green/yellow cable isnt uv protected?

Aye,all cable spec by architect,thought it was uv protected.

No just where it starts to bend.

Can't understand why to keep it uniform the tray wasn't taken away from the wall pre bend then you go around the bend and take it back so it matches both sides.

Bit of a bodge methinks.........

And the radius isn't uniform around the bend, tsk, when I where a lad.............

If you can cope with a height change you can curve to vertical before the corner and back to horizontal after. That would work mathematically but practically and aesthetically it may leave much to be desired!!

How about drilling a large hole through the wall and feeding the cable through?

I remember at Heathrow using a 5 Tonne lorry to drag an armoured through.

I would change those tie raps for metal the plastic ones will go brittle , not a bad job though its always easy afterwoulds to think of a beter way of doing it , may be swan neck to tray back closer to the wall next time
