Discuss ZS for a 5amp BS 1362 fuse in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Peveers, many thanks for this my orignal reply was a tongue in response no pointed intent intended, it would seem that it missed the mark with some I apologise if I caused you any offence

If it was being used at an FCU then its overload protection for appliance only not the circuit. You dont take Zs readings at appliances its furthest point of circuit or mid point of ring.

I didn't mention appliances!

I'm talking about if you want more than one double socket from a spur from a ring, or maybe spurred off from the ring to feed a light, maybe in a garage or similar. Not best practice I would agree, but can still be done. All still fixed wiring, and then you would use the max Zs for the fuse to check disconnection.

Good question Martynb, these fuses were going to be installed in an in line fuse holder to control a camera, I'm not sure if you can only use 1362's in spurs, plug tops etc, any ideas out there?
