EICO Smoke Detectors Wireless and Non-Wireless

Hi, Does anyone know if I can mix wireless and wired interlinked detectors from EICO. I would like to interlink 2 on a ground floor by wire and have a wireless one on the 1st floor landing.

    Domestic Smoke Detector Recommendations

Cheers everyone, gone with the Aico. I normally fit these but wire interlinked so I'm happy with the Aico unit. I was just surprised how much the wireless bases were so wondered what you guys were installing. I've quoted the landlord but not had a reply, I guess he's fallen off his chair and not...

    Domestic Smoke Detector Recommendations

Yes this is why I am going for wireless. They are rental properties so are tenanted and I thought it would be a nightmare to try and run interlinks and end ups costing more than a wireless base.

I came across a belter today

I know I was wondering what the significance of that was. Perhaps its to warn you that it gets hot when you are welding in the garage. The armoured feeds a sub board in the garage. This is the same JB that is giving me 47Ω R1+R2 at a socket which is spurred off from it. Loose connections and...

The other beauty found in the same property is the armoured feed going out to the garage in this JB in the loft. Guess what they did with the armour.

    Bonding gas/water yellow and blue

Agreed. But.... not relevant. If that was acceptable then you could say let’s only bond the gas even if the water is on a metallic supply pipe as it’s all at the same potential. I’m only interpreting the regs.

I came across a belter today

I am at a customers to do a consumer unit swap amongst other bits and bobs and its one of those jobs where you end up fault finding and rectifying before you even strike a blow. Well, fitting some replacement outside security lights to existing feeds off the lighting circuit, I was baffled to...

    Bonding gas/water yellow and blue

Even with a plastic incoming water supply, if the installation is completely metallic (copper) it will almost definitely be introducing earth potential via the connection at the boiler. Where the plumber has bonded all the pipes together at the boiler as in the above picture, you can be sure all...

    Thermostat change - advice

Ha ha ha - This forum makes me howl. Of course he would go through all his social media to check who told him how to wire up a thermostat and then take them to court for manslaughter, not. Jesus. Just because someone tells you how something can be done, it doesn't make you liable for their...
