Dear community,
as the Pro Nest are too fare away from my place in Italy, I am seeking here for advice. The actual work will be done then by my local electrician - I am a DIY.
Goal: I want to install a Nest 3rd generation learning thermostat (not the thermostat E) including heat link to my old...
OK, this is a weird one!
I have a grid tied PV system which exports spare power to the grid.
The maximum it will export is around 2.5kW
Now I want to use around 1.5kW, but I want to use it to heat a 3kW element.
So it will be a slow long heating rather than the full 3kW the element normally...
I'm looking at installing Ecoflex loose cable under the floor in my bathroom. I'm also going to be installing a large mirror, running the length of one wall, which I'd also like to heat to stop it misting up.
I understand it hasn't been designed with that in mind, but would there be any...
Thinking of a simple way of cooking direct with PV in the summer - ie, DC, no batteries or inverters. This concept seems simple and scalable.
Envisioning something pretty scaled up - using around 3kW of PV.
Considering using PTC elements. Here is a catalogue with some basic information on...
Spaghetti wiring using lots of terminal blocks.
Wish to move to Wago mbox.
Cable entries too small for cables so need to wire into back of box.
All cables are either surface mounted or free running across cupboard.
Need to raise Wago away from wall as I don’t really want to bury cables in the...
I'd appreciate some advice on an insurance dispute: Last year the electricity board sent someone to replace our 3 phase meter. He mis-wired it and popped anything electronic, any lights that were on, and a fair number of white goods. He left it mis-wired for about 15 mins and it didn't trip any...

I have some ESWA heating mats to give away to anyone that can use them. I had them for a project in 2003 which didn't need them in the end, and they've been stored in a dry place ever since. They are completely unused, and free to a good home. Mats only, no thermostat. You pay the postage

I will start by introducing myself, I'm Martin from Stockport and I'm here today with a question I'd like to get some opinions on if I may…

Theoretically, is it possible to utilise/connect to the sensor in a heater, even if the heater is not connected to a power source? Presumably, the sensor has some of antenna which would enable it to sense temperature outside of the circuitry. If so, is it possible to network these sensors with...
