Discuss 10.8kw shower in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I have got a Mira sport max 10.8kw.

Yes it does get you wet like a 7kw, i can turn my one of full whack and my hot water comes out fast not a trickle like a 7kw.

Its a very good shower, I've got it on a 50A with 10mm cable.

use 10 mm cable providing the run is within the regs a 10.5 shower draws a lot of current-- the board needs to be able to handle it a 45 amp breaker or fuse would do the job
btw ignore the childish posts

Well i have a 4.2or 4.7KW (can never remember which) shower over here in my flat and the water volume/pressure is more than adequate as is the the water temperature. Never had one in any of my own houses, never had the need. 10.8 KW just sounds totally ridiculous to me, just in running costs alone, especially if you have teenage daughters. ...lol!!

can anyone remember the early electric showers?
the element was visual in a see through plastic enclosure 6kw maybye
i installed one for a freind ( a scouser) his son used to spend far too mutch time in there doing what young lads tend to do

He's a carpet fitter.
If you fitted your own carpet with half a clue of what your doing and no underpinning knowledge do you expect an excellent result?
Now turn the tables. Its an accident waiting to happen. How can he test his install to make sure its fit for use apart from getting a spark in? He may aswel get him/her in to do the lot.

I don't mind it when advise is given but it looks like a free training Q+A! Would you ask a brain surgeon questions in the hope of removing a brain tumor?

(Unless he is training to become an electrician and just working as a fitter to put bread on the table)
