17 th edition and 18 th edition and the future 19th edition exams are purely a case of can you navigate the regs book.

I agree this exam is nothing to do with interpretation or knowledge or understanding.
I agree, too. That's why practicing and then taking a bunch of 'take your choice' questions in an exam environment means SFA ….as far as being a truly qualified and trained electrician.
Regulations is but one of the facets involved becoming fully qualified.....or at least it used to be.
No offence to certain members on here who have shown their willingness and aptitude in going the full hog.
