Discuss 18th Edition Regulations exam study in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Cheapest place i could find for the books was napit to be fair, got regs, osg, and gn3 for £128 delivered which i didnt think was tooooo bad, course is £495 and 3 days off work so i guess the total damage is about £1300....

Itl just have to be passed onto the customer so even more of them use unqualified cowboys or do it them selves making the entire thing even more pointless :p

Only joking... Ill swallow the cost "for the greater good"

XS training are doing the 18th edition as a distance learning course with a exam at a center of your choosing for £300 plus the dreaded.

Rcds for lighting, switching device for Protective conductor in dual supplies, 730 whole new section for inland vessels on shore connections, electrical separation on Caravan sites and many more

It's becoming a common gripe on this forum @Dan, any chance you can take a look at the negative ratings?
Don't doubt it gets up your nose Mate, do what I do Ignore the divs, although you can always read their inane comments, just for fun.

I applied for my update in the local college online, 6/8/18.

1 day update course as have 17th Amd 3.

Was gonna get the Regs, OSG and GN3 book pack, as it seems best value than to buy them at stages on their own, but GN3 isn’t being dispatched until 31/7/18, so wouldn’t give me long to get a blast through them and tab the pages.

If it is not cheeky , how much is an update course?

No experience of belonging to any Scheme, but do they not insist, that to be a new member, you should within a time frame get yourself the new BS7671 qualification, as I said I have had no experience with the likes of NICEIC so hence my question, not that it bothers me, as I am now an interested non working Electrician. Mind you I may get updated just to stop myself going doolally, now do the they do discounts for Pensioners, I wonder? no harm in asking is there? don't ask don't get, I'll let you know, but I'm not very optimistic, couple of Hundred for the books, plus course fees, could stop the intake of Vino for a while.

On Niceic shop it’s
£85.50 for the Regs
£100.00 for Regs and OSG
£128.00 for Regs, OSG and GN3

I don’t know yet, it just was apply now. No prices mentioned, the full 17th Amd 3 course 4 days was £214 but Dept of Economy funded for self employed or less than 250 staff meant it was £85.

Hoping they’ll do same way this time lol

But it should be a good bit less than £214, as it’s 1 day not 4 days.

@Phil Thompson .
I called in at my local college on Thursday . They have no one to run the course , no staff in the electrical department . If they do get enough applicants the may run the course . Last year was £500 but it will be more this time .... did I want to book?
