2 WAY LIGHTING CIRCUIT.jpg

cheers for any help

You don't link the 2 commons together, one common is live in and the other common should be live to the light fitting.

L1 links to L1
L2 links to L2

Dont forget to have an earth at the light fitting too.

Hope this helps

your live feed from mains to the Loop Loop to Common on first switch L1 and L2 on both switches Linked ( strappers or Pass wires ) depends where you live what they are called Common from switch number 2 to the Sw Live on the light fitting neutral to neutral

you have connected the live feed to the swlive at the fitting and the commons shouldnt be linked as your diagram shows Hope this helps

You would do switch live to L1 and common to L2 from ceiling rose then from switch 1 to switch two three core and earth would be used and then connect L1 to L1 and L2 to L2 then common to common and your earth is connected in backbox you would do it like this in twin and earth no crimping done at all. My dad showed me this he has 50+ years experience and my tutor did not even know this he had us crimping. I don't understand how people are saying you can't link the commons ?

I was always told when using twin and earth on a 2 way lighting circuit from your ceiling rose take your common to L1 and switch live to L2 then to switch 2 you run a 3 core and earth and then go L1 to L1, L2 to L2 then common to common you don't crimp anything.

Don't understand what do you mean ?

It was only a play with words and humour
That sentence is what I mean dP 1980 (I
t sounds a bit like "live" but the spelling is different )

lol what I don't understand though one of my tutors said not to wire it like that because there is a permanent live in the switch ? is'nt there a permanent live in the switch on a one way light as well ? in twin and earth that is
