Discuss 3 Phase Armoured Cable - need to extend cables in the middle in the Commercial Electrical Advice area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi, we are installing a roller shutter door, and need to move 6 armoured cables up about 3 ft, so they will need chopping, a junction installing each side and some fresh cable in the middle.

Two questions.

1. Is there any kind of junction box that can cope with this or will I need 6 individual armoured junction boxes each side

2. Anyone reccomend an electrician in the Bradford area to do this work

Thanks

best guy for advice is darkwood.( one of the mods).do a search for darkwood and pm him. he's in bradford.

Any chance of some pics of the existing installation.

unless there is an issue with vibration you would probably be better off with conduit but thats entirely up to you.
but this is a situation where you would have to replace conductors and test them thoroughly (adding extensions onto existing conductors adds more splices and more places the connections can fail)
enlisting the aid of a licensed spark in your area is the best recommendation.
