Is it ok to have a cooker switch for an induction hob accessible inside a cupboard? I know there have been similar posts/discussions for appliance sockets and I've never thought of doing this before but would be easier for me.

fine by me. put it near front of cupboard.

The key words are "local" and "accessible". Yes you can, just put it at the front of the cupboard and not the back behind all the pots and pans.

This is another good example of where the regs should be clearer. Personally I don't like putting isolators in cupboards, but occassionally its the only way.

its fine as long as you tell customer where it is...!!

i once fitted my parent shower switch in the cupboard on staircase next to the FCU for shower pump... why?? cause it would look "CRAP" in the newly refurbished bathroom...

they happy i happy! cert issued..!

Agree with you Murdoch. My thoughts were not against regs but not best practice, I would rather put it on show but awkward to flush fit in tiled wall. It's another case of the regs adapting to the real world.

if you read the building regs it does say where practicable should be fixed to the fabric of the building and not the kitchen units
Some would say that the units once installed are part of the fabric of the building, personally I dont like them in cupboards but if the client insists....

As far as i'm concerned Kitchen cabinets were never intended to house electrical isolators or accessories, and i've never used them as such!!!
